When I was a kid a neighbor gave me my first camera. It was an old Kodak 110 Instant Camera and I was hooked. I have this memory of Easter; I pulled a rug over an ottoman and dragged it in front of a sliding door, closed the drapes so I could use them for a background and made the kids in the family sit for me. I also seem to remember later in the summer trying to be like Ansel Adams or something and I would lay on the ground and take pictures of trees. I seriously remember thinking to myself "This is original stuff cuz grownups don’t think of this kind of stuff." I’m not sure what happened but at some point I stopped.
When my daughter Sarah was born my wife wanted to start a scrapbook and we decided that we needed a decent camera. I picked out a Nikon and I started taking photos of my amazing little girl. Her eyes and little toes and her toys, and our neighbor’s flowers, and the bugs that land on the flowers and the light as it shines thought the tops of the trees - cuz grownups don’t think of this kind of stuff. I’m not sure what happened but I haven’t stopped yet.
